It’s day 5! Today’s reading can be found in Psalm 28:7 – join me!

31 Days of Scripture Psalms Day 5

Something to Think on

Here we are, 5 days into our daily scripture reading and I find myself reading much of the same thing over and over again. I feel like these Psalms are are all pushing the same message across. God is all powerful. It’s incredible to think about and sometimes almost overwhelming to even fully comprehend. Just think on that for a moment as we dig a little deeper into His word.

Psalm 28:7

Short & Sweet
Psalm 28:7

Ok, I am totally digging the Psalms so far. I hope you are as well! This verse in particular is a favorite of mine. I find the first half of this verse to be so incredibly beautiful and comforting. Without any sugar coating… life is just plain hard sometimes! Finding comfort in His word is all we can do to just hang on sometimes!

“My strength and my shield” – Are you noticing a theme yet? Shield, strength, salvation, these words keep appearing in the Psalms over and over again. I generally feel that if something is continually repeated, it’s probably because it’s important. “The LORD is my strength and my shield”. It’s time for me to stand back and let Him fight my battles for me.

“My heart trusted in Him” – This is beautiful.  When I take a back seat and let God guide me through my trials, instead of doing everything my own way. It means I’m trusting Him.

Call to Action

It’s hard to see the full picture sometimes, especially when the way He helps doesn’t always line up with up with what I might have envisioned for myself, but in time we will always understand. I encourage you to take a moment today and lift up your burdens to him.
